Hostels in Portugal

Two hostels. Two very different experiences.

Host Wise operates two hostels in northern Portugal — each with its own character, its own location and its own reason to stay. One is in the heart of Porto's historic centre, steps from everything the city offers. The other is by the sea, thirty minutes north, in a village that most visitors never reach.

Both are professionally managed to the same Host Wise standard: clean, well-equipped and run by people who care about the details. Neither is the kind of hostel you apologise for staying in.

Porto Lounge Hostel

In the heart of Porto, on a 19th-century street

Porto Lounge Hostel sits on Rua do Almada, a typical 18th-century street five minutes from Avenida dos Aliados and the same walk from Trindade Metro — the direct line to the airport. The building dates from the 19th century, restored and redesigned inside with an eye for style rather than budget austerity.

Dorms and private rooms. Mixed and women-only options. Monthly stays for longer-term guests. The hostel works for solo travellers, couples, families and groups — and its location means every major Porto sight, restaurant and transport link is within easy reach on foot.

  • Dorms & private rooms
  • Women-only dorm available

Sixteen rooms, each named after a different Portuguese town. A pool. A jacuzzi terrace. A shared kitchen and common areas built for people who want somewhere to actually be, not just sleep. Porto is close enough for a day trip. The beach is close enough to walk to before breakfast.
