Porto is a city that rewards staying in it properly. An apartment gives you that — your own kitchen, your own hours, the ability to live in a neighbourhood rather than just pass through it. Host Wise manages apartments across Porto's most interesting areas, all professionally managed and all available to book direct.

Whether you are here for a long weekend, a week or an extended stay, we have apartments that fit the trip. Studios for solo travellers and couples, larger flats for families or small groups.

Neighbourhoods

Where in Porto would you like to stay?

Baixa

The historic city centre. Porto's most central base — close to the main sights, the riverside and everything on foot. The natural starting point for a first visit.

Vila Nova de Gaia

Across the Dom Luís bridge from Porto, with stunning views of the city skyline. Home to the famous wine cellars, a growing restaurant scene and a calmer pace than the city centre.

Bonfim

Porto at its most authentic. Independent restaurants, a real neighbourhood feel and excellent transport links. The most in-demand area for longer stays.

Foz do Douro

Where the Douro meets the Atlantic. A calmer, residential neighbourhood with beautiful gardens, ocean-facing walks and some of Porto's best mid-range restaurants.

Matosinhos

North of Foz, over the bridge. Porto's beach neighbourhood — wide Atlantic beach, excellent seafood restaurants and direct metro access into the city centre.

Cedofeita

Central and characterful. Close to the Crystal Palace gardens, full of independent cafes and galleries. A good base for art lovers and first-time visitors.

Transport

Getting around Porto

Porto is easy to navigate. Most of the centre is walkable, and everything else is covered.

On foot

The historic centre is compact. Ribeira, Baixa, Clérigos, Bonfim — all connected on foot. The hills are steep; that's part of the character.

Best for the historic centre

Metro

Six lines covering the city and suburbs. Direct line to the airport (Violet line, ~35 min from the centre). Also connects to Matosinhos beach and Vila do Conde.

Airport, Matosinhos, north coast

Trams

Historic trams run from Infante along the river toward Foz do Douro — scenic and practical. A slower way to get to the coast, but a much better one.

Ribeira → Foz do Douro

Uber & Bolt

Both are widely available and reliable. Short trips within the city are quick and inexpensive. Useful for late nights, luggage, or reaching areas not covered by tram or metro.

Widely available, low cost
